Channing Tatum needs to get some stuff off his chest. He sent out a bizarre video via Twitter of his ruminations on the app The Pattern. The 39-year-old said he downloaded the app and put his birthday and time of birth in, and that’s when things started to get weird.

He said: “How do you know what you know about me, Pattern? People of The Pattern, people that use The Pattern, you need to DM me right now and tell me how you know this stuff. I don’t even know if I want to know this stuff. I don’t even know if I want to know. I don’t know if anybody should know this stuff. And I just get a notification on my phone this morning. Boop. Pops up. Phone listening. Are you listening throught the phone Pattern? AI, the algorithm through the phone, are you listening and then just regurgitating the stuff that I’m afraid of?”

The Pattern is described as a personality app and social media platform. According to the App Store, as a user, you can”explore your Personal Pattern to gain insight about various sides of your personality. Understanding these dynamics can help you to navigate the difficult times and take advantage of the positive opportunities that you might otherwise miss.”

During his rant, Tatum also disclosed that he was in therapy, and advised everyone else to go too.

“You know what, Pattern people? You should just call me. That’s what should happen right now. You should just DM me. If you know so much you know how to get in touch with me, don’t you? So just do that.”

Although it’s unclear whether the app actually contacted the movie star, its Twitter account replied to his rant with two hugging emojis.

The PR—even if it was mixed—seemed to be a boon for the Pattern, as it got so many users it temporarily crashed.
