Disgraced comedian Louis C.K. made a Holocaust joke to an Israeli audience in Tel Aviv. The 52-year-old, who admitted to masturbating in front of co-workers against their will, said: “I’d rather be in Auschwitz than New York City. I mean now, not when it was open.”
C.K.’s paternal grandfather was Jewish. He is in the midst of an international comedy tour, an attempt to re-enter the mainstream comedy world.
The audience may have applauded his line, but on social media, not so much. Wrote one: “Louis CK also joked at the show about the accusations that he masturbated in front of women without their consent. How’s that for contrition and reflection over time?,” while another opined, “The only thing more pitiful than what Louis CK has become are those who'll continue to pretend he's Hilarious! Edgy! Fearless! because he serves their obsessive trigger-the-left purposes.”
He’s set to perform in Hungary next week, and will return to the U.S. to play shows in New Orleans, Houston and Detroit in February.
