Uncomfortable royal update du jour: Queen Elizabeth appears to have removed a framed photo of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry from her sitting room. The photo from their engagement shoot was spotted in May of 2018, and has been seen multiple times since. But in a photo taken October 22nd, the image was conspicuously absent.

Instead, there’s just a photo of Prince William and Kate Middleton. Royal watchers are reading between the lines and assuming the omission is a signal of the Queen’s displeasure with Harry and Meghan’s decision to open up. The pair have sued tabloid newspapers and shared their stress and unhappiness at the constant public and media criticism in an ITV documentary, African Journey.

But others speculate that the Queen is doing so in support of the pair, who are seeking more privacy.
