Legendary '70s and '80s hitmakers the Little River Band are heading out on the road later this week for an extended string of North American dates that stretch through February 2019. The band is led by bassist and nearly 40-year-veteran of the band, Wayne Nelson, who has kept the brand on the road and recording as all the original members quit one by one. Little River Band kicks things off on Thursday night (October 11th) in Waukegan, Illinois at Genesee Theatre.

The Little River Band scored 13 Top 40 hits between 1976 and 1983, including the Top 20's — “Help Is On The Way,” “Lady,” “The Other Guy,” and the Top Ten hits, “Lonesome Loser,” “Cool Change,” “The Night Owls,” “Take It Easy On Me,” and their biggest hit, the 1978 Top Three hit “Reminiscing.”

Wayne Nelson told us that “Reminiscing” remains the band's signature song for several reasons: “So many people’s memories: proms, weddings, family reunions, getting together to reminisce, and it literally becomes a theme to the show; I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard: ‘We’re going to come and reminisce and it’s going to be a night for a cool change and we’re not lonesome losers anymore.’ It’s like a scrapbook kind of a thing where people have used it under their pictures and all of that sounds like a cliche, but the truth of the matter is, it’s so wound into people’s lives, that that’s what the song means. It literally sets the tone for what we’re doing.” :
