According to Variety, BMG is set to release a new tribute album for Marc Bolan and T. Rex next year. The album will feature tracks recorded by U2, Foo Fighters, Elton John, Joan Jett, Nick Cave, Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell, Soft Cell singer Marc Almond, Kesha and Borns. A documentary is also in the works. A source told the publication that U2 recorded T. Rex’s biggest hit, 1971’s “Bang a Gong (Get It On)” for the set. Stone Temple Pilots' singer Jeff Gutt has revealed that he was jumped at a club in Ohio. During a joint Reddit AMA session with Seether bassist Dale Stewart, when asked the best and worst places they've played, Jeff said, “It was Rock on the Range. It was a big moment for me to walk out with the guys on stage. There was a place in Canton Ohio where we sold it out and the bouncer and the owner jumped me and kicked me out. Just something healthy.”
