Ric Ocasek cut his estranged wife, supermodel, Paulina Porizkova, out of his will only weeks before his September 15th death. The 75-year-old Cars leader died of natural causes at the couple's New York City home, which they still shared. Porizkova, who discovered Ocasek's body, met the guitarist when she was 18-years-old on the set of the Cars' 1984 video for "Drive." The couple was married in 1989, the year after the group broke up. The remained married until Ocasek's death, although they had separated in 2017.
Ocasek had cut the mother of two of his children out of his will, dated August 28th, reportedly stating in the document: "I have made no provision for my wife Paulina Porizkova ('Paulina') as we are in the process of divorcing. Even if I should die before our divorce is final. . . Paulina is not entitled to any elective share. . . because she has abandoned me."
According to PageSix.com, which printed a portion of the will: "A filing listed with the document lists Ocasek’s assets to include $5 million in 'copyrights' — but just $100,000 in 'tangible personal property' and $15,000 in cash."
