Out now is 'Stranger Things': Soundtrack from the Netflix Original Series, Season 3. The new compilation features classic '70s and '80s hits from the Who, John Cougar Mellencamp, the Cars, Madonna, Corey Hart, Foreigner, Howard Jones, Wham!, the Pointer Sisters, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Foreigner, REO Speedwagon, Huey Lewis & The News, and more.

2017's 'Stranger Things': Music from the Netflix Original Series — comprised primarily of 1980's hits and classic tracks used in the show's first two seasons — debuted in the Top 10 on Billboard's US Top Soundtracks chart and was nominated in the Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media category at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards.

The Cars are represented on the new soundtrack with “Moving In Stereo” from the band's 1978 self-titled debut. We asked Cars lead guitarist Elliot Easton what his favorite period of the band's career was: “Probably the first album, just 'cause it was so exciting a time, and it was a time in the band where it really was a band. I just have very fond memories of going to England to make that record, and everything was brand new and the first time for everything, so it was a very exciting time in my life.”

John Mellencamp's 1985 Scarecrow classic “R.O.C.K. In The U.S.A.” is featured on the new comp. He told us he prides himself on being able to connect to his audience on a multitude of levels: “There was a while that a lot of the songs I wrote I made sure that just anybody that picked up a guitar could play 'em. 'Cause I think that's very important that the songs aren't so complicated and obtuse, that your normal kid who knows six chords can't play a song. I mean, I don't think it's important for all type of songwriters, but it's very important for me.”
