Mark Hollis, the lead singer from the 1980's new wave band Talk Talk is dead at age 64 or unknown causes, according to Best Classic Bands. Talk Talk will always be remembered for their sole U.S. Top 40 hit, “It's My Life.” Talk Talk — featuring Hollis on vocals, guitar, and keyboards — carried on through 1991 with Hollis eventually retiring from music in 1998 after releasing a self-titled solo album to raise a family.
Talk Talk’s bassist, Paul Webb, posted a tribute to Hollis on his Facebook page: “I am very shocked and saddened to hear the news of the passing of Mark Hollis. Musically he was a genius and it was a honour and a privilege to have been in a band with him. I have not seen Mark for many years, but like many musicians of our generation I have been profoundly influenced by his trailblazing musical ideas. He knew how to create a depth of feeling with sound and space like no other. He was one of the greats, if not the greatest.”
