The Who’s Roger Daltrey is concerned that the coronavirus pandemic will have a big effect on teens with cancer. He and bandmate Pete Townsend started the Teen Cancer America foundation 8 years ago and are heavily involved.
He told the Associated Press: “It’s devastating for them because every treatment that they have for cancer compromises their immune system.”
Among other things, the foundation has funded hospital wings and services for teens and their families.
June is National Cancer Survivors Month and some of their funding depends on revenue from concerts. And with touring postponed, donations are suffering.
Other artists that support Teen Cancer America include Robert Plant, Eddie Vedder, and Joan Jett. If you are interested in donating, go to Teen Cancer America .Org.
